Alice after shed. by ArachnoWolf Alice after shed. by ArachnoWolf
Well tonight is feeding night for Alice the boa constrictor. I opened the tubs to check on the snakes and discovered Alice was all bright and shiny lookin' :P (not that you can really tell with albinos, but you kinda can.) Sometimes I can tell beforehand when she goes into shed, but I obviously didn't catch it this time. So she was in shed in the photos I just recently posted of her.
Rats do a body good :bucktooth:

Do albinos see color? She is looking a little wary but pleased. I am better at reading lizard body language.

Shedding takes a lot of body/muscle maneuvering, so yes, I imagine she was a bit tired, but she got a nice rat meal that evening :D
...I...I'm sure most albino animals see colour...I'm not sure about snakes in general. I mean, they see heat, feel movement, see the movement. I mean, I know she's used to me, my smell, my movements, how I look to her...I have no clue though

Just something I always wondered about. Our beardy's taste buds seem to be connected to color. He is not an albino though.

Yeah, my snakes are curious, but the most curious ones I have are the garters, they seem to want to look at most things during more warmer months. They've been pretty calm this Winter.

What do you feed the garters?

Eh, not really, between them they are eating fuzzy and pinkie mice, and then some pinkie mice have to be cut up for the very small garters.
