Description
Friday I found this little guy flopping next to a fence an Main St. I was able to capture him (after some scuffling around in leaves and shooing him out from inside a hollow log) and called a local wildlife rehabilitation center thinking he was a wild dove. The lady there informed me that he wasn't a wild type bird at all, he was domesticated. So I called to check on him today since I said I would take him if his owner was not found, but was happy to hear that he had gone back to his keeper.
He had been able to fly before but I was told he had sustained a shoulder injury, which is inoperable for a bird, so sadly he may not be able to fly anymore. I just hope he lives out the rest of his life a happy bird!

Congrats & happy February from Flock-Together group!
February Feature - Love for DOVES (and PIGEONS)!Pigeons and doves are intelligent, curious birds that make surprisingly delightful friends. They are quiet, easy to maintain, and very affectionate and playful. They are an excellent choice for the novice bird owner and make a suitable companion bird for older children and teens.
Temperament :icondiamonddoveplz:
-----------------------------------------------
They are generally calm placid birds, but tend to startle easily. They are peaceful gentle birds that are not given to aggression; if frightened or stressed they can bite or scratch.
When raised with love and caring, pigeons and doves are very loyal and affectionate. They enjoy being petted and gently cuddled. They enjoy human contact and are fairly easy to tame and train.
