What happened to the weather?! It has been relatively nice where I can wear a t-shirt but now it feels like winter again today. Come on Spring!

I have been meaning to do several updates including a critter report, upcoming projects, and what I've been up to for a few days now. So, you've met Vincent, but you didn't see the bad news unless you watch my YouTube channel.
Miyuki's Death Certificate by ArachnoWolf
One of the snakes I was hoping to breed passed away, my gorgeous girl Miyuki, the Snow Plains Garter. I'm not sure what the cause of death was. She did stop eating on her own in early Autumn and refused food after. I did try a few times through the winter and during the first really few warm days we had here to feed her, and as I was getting ready to feed the garter snakes I saw see she looked "off." For about 48 hours she barely moved, but then just stopped moving for a full 24 hour period. It was really hard to see her like that, knowing how spunky of a girl she was.

On to better news!
I have started a "Master" Naturalist Class taking place at Muscatatuck National Wildlife Refuge. The course was only $35 and due to bad weather the first class was moved to be our last, which is one I am really looking forward to, it being Geology.
Our fist class just happened to be one of my favourites, Reptiles and Amphibians. I did learn quite a bit, and have been bringing a journal/notebook with me to record information, of which I wrote about 5 pages of notes in that particular class. Last Wednesday was a very fun and interactive class which I greatly enjoyed, Mammals. Our instructor brought furs and skulls and I was happy to be able to identify most of them. I also learned quite a bit in that class! Photos to come of the furs and stuff (because they overly-excited me.)
To complete my course I will be having to do volunteer work, which can take place at any time, during or after the classes. I still have to send in an application for several particular projects and am looking to do more this spring.

I took that trip on Monday the 16th down 31! Slash that off my bucket list. Although, sadly, we really didn't see a lot to go to (went with mom), but it was a great drive with the windows down and I did get to hear my first spring frogs on that trip.

There was a point where we went the wrong direction and ended up in a really druggy part of town. Like people were all jumpy and shit >_>

Oh! I am secure to head towards Oklahoma! I have my bus ticket! Yep, that's right, I said bus! At first it was because it was cheaper, next I was like, "Oh, I could take pics from the bus." but then I'm all, "I'm travelling at night though."  So, anyway, I may bring a book or two to read or something, I'm not sure what exactly. I do have that MP3 player I got a couple Christmas' ago I need to use.

So there's two things marked off my "to do list" this year. The thing I am really looking forward to is going back down 31 to return to Clark State Forest when there are leaves on the trees and also visit, I think it was Washington park/forest (not sure which) we saw a sign for down 31.

I imagine if all works out well I can return to Mammoth Cave (mostly for the woods) before my trip to Oklahoma. I also want to start videos called "A Stroll in the Woods", I know, not original, but I already did one video on the Chestnut Ridge Trail at Muscatatuck, to be uploaded.

I was going to say, "I feel like I'm forgetting something..." but yes! The critters! On Saturday, March 21st I put Sebastian with Kali (Albino Checkered male and Normal Het Albino Female) but I don't think its warm enough for them to take an interest in breeding yet. He seems to enjoy cuddling with her a lot though, its kinda just too adorable. I will have to separate though so I can keep better track of attempted breeding records and all that.

My newest baby, Vincent, appears to be shy at eating around me. He'll only eat if I leave the mouse in and leave the room. Ah well, in time!

I'm still waiting for arachnids to start moulting again. Kinda getting impatient, haha!

The turtles did start eating! Although sparingly, because I don't think Solar Panel has any interest in pellets yet, but he did try to bite the roach I threw in for Skeletor, but doesn't seem interested in them now. So far Skeletor has been eating roach snacks. Only one a day as it takes him a while to eat it.

Other eating reports? You saw Wadjet was eating, and so is Popsicle again. The Ball Pythons are still NOT eating...

Uhm, I think this is it.
Projects?? Really just haven't taken a LOT of good photos lately, still, even on that trip. Maybe once the greenery comes back. I do, however, of course, have sunset photos to show you all. You all know I adore my sunsets!

How's the weather where you are?

It's still sad you lost Miyuki. :(  Hopefully you're feeling better lately, though. :)

Glad to hear you managed to get some things checked off your list!  It looks like I'm finally going to a reptile con this weekend, so hopefully I'll be able to check some stuff off, too....The bus ride sounds fun, to be able to sit with your own thoughts and a book and/or music.  What do you have planned for Oklahoma?

Everyone here is eating. *wipes sweat off brow, knocks on wood*  Bud took a mouse last week after 3 refusals, but everyone else has been steadily eating.  I'm sure the balls will get back into the swing of things soon enough once your weather warms up.

As far as weather here, all but a couple nights are supposed to be in the 50's, and only one night falls below 45F.  The days are supposed to be in the high 50's to the low 70's!  It snowed a bit this weekend, but it doesn't look like we're due for any more so far. :)
